IP, Tax optimization and Monetization in the European Union
This Topic Meeting ‘IP, Tax optimization and Monetization in the European Union’ is held to celebrate the World IP Day 2014. World IP Day was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) “to promote discussion of the role of intellectual property (IP) in encouraging innovation
and creativity . . . a unique opportunity each year to join with others around the globe to consider how IP contributes to the flourishing of music and the arts and to driving the technological innovation that helps shape our world.”
Specific Learning Objectives for this meeting are:
• Identifying the main hurdles when restructuring IP for tax optimization purposes
• An overview of the most favorable European IP income tax regimes;
• Main differences between the different regimes, taking into consideration the IP rights involved, i.e. patents, trademarks, copyright, domain names and the kind of income generated;
• Selected tax beneficial structures and the incoming anti-abuse-legislation;
• Case Study: company with affiliates and different types of assets in various member states

The meeting will be held at the Parc-Hotel Alvisse, 120 Route d’Echternach, L-1453 Luxembourg. For a room at the hotel you can contact the hotel directly or book a room at Double Tree by Hilton, 12 Rue Jean Engling, Luxembourg.
The fee for this meeting will be Euro 120,00 for LES Members and Euro 180,00 for non-members and includes meeting materials such
as program and participants list, buffet lunch, coffee and tea in the break and drinks after the meeting. Payment can take place
by credit card or cash at the meeting or by bank transfer. Bank details can be found at the registration form. Registration can

Granting of study hours and educational points
For Dutch Lawyers the amount of study hours is six. The amount of educational points for the Belgische Balies is pending. Please contactthe Registration Desk at the day of the meeting for the necessary lists to sign.

The speakers at this meeting will be kindly requested to make their presentations available for publication at level 2 (registration required) of the before mentioned website. The presentations will be available approximately two weeks after the meeting.
